Every Friday and Sunday, a market in the Mottaz Gardens sells seasonal vegetables, herbal teas, jams and cordials. The mountain farmers running it grow everything organically, and would love to tell you about the process as you peruse the stalls.

The courses here are hard to resist, especially for technically advanced golfers. Mont-d’Arbois is an 18-hole course with 50 hectares of woodland, a putting green, and a training bunker. It’s all found at the foot of the mountains, with soul-warming views.
