As a continuation of our partnership with Artion Galleries, Ultima Hotel Gstaad enriches its 2026 winter season with two exceptional exhibitions in Gstaad, Switzerland.

Exhibition Details

From the 16th of January, guests can marvel at the evocative works of Aubert Issachar, whose presence sets the artistic tone for the season and establishes this as a must-see art exhibition in Gstaad.

Then, from the 7th of February, the spotlight shifts to Miguel Platero, introducing a fresh interplay of colour, form, and emotion within the hotel’s private world. As a celebration of artistic mastery in the heart of the Swiss Alps, this series invites guests to experience moments of inspiration, discovery, and creative connection.

Set against the dramatic mountain landscape, this art exhibition offers quiet moments of reflection whether you are a seasoned collector or simply seeking something memorable between winter days in Gstaad.

Aubert Issachar

Aubert Issachar’s exhibition will open on 16 January 2026, with the artist present from 6pm to 9pm.

Miguel Platero

Miguel Platero’s exhibition will follow on 7 February 2026, also marked by the artist’s presence from 6pm to 9pm.

Access

The exhibition is accessible downstairs, within the Spa Boutique.

This year, Aubert “79.4.107” presents “Phantom Tantrum,” his second art exhibition with Artion, held at the Ultima Hotel in Gstaad. The narrative picks up where it left off a year earlier, retaining the same themes but focusing more closely on the tension between conflict and communication.

Raised in Athens in a multicultural family, Aubert developed an interest in diversity and language at an early age. He has lived in New York, London, Paris, Singapore, São Paulo, and Amsterdam. He has held a solo exhibition in São Paulo, participated in a group show dedicated to emerging talents, and in Europe, presented a solo exhibition in London with Virginia Damtsa (formerly Riflemaker) as well as a previous solo show with Artion in Geneva.

In a world where conflicts over resources give way to conflicts over knowledge, truth becomes more difficult to grasp. Aubert therefore studies communication as an antidote to give meaning to human relationships. His large, almost square canvases function as portals, mirrors in which personal experience is reflected. They create mental landscapes where memories become distorted shapes and figures, reflections of the same individual or multiple characters, oscillating between harmony and conflict.

Miguel Platero is a visual artist and architect whose work explores the relationship between form and colour. Based in Warsaw since 2007, he often works with recycled materials, reinterpreting classical genres through a contemporary lens. Influenced by the visual avant-garde and Abstract Expressionism, his paintings move fluidly between figuration and abstraction and have been exhibited widely in Spain and internationally.

In his “Cities” series, Platero depicts places like Toledo and Bucharest, blending nature and urban life. Details such as a red fence or a white roof evoke solitude and the passing of time. His work echoes Kandinsky, with colours that feel almost musical; sharp reds, deep blues. In pieces like “Glances” and “Red Topology,” diluted colour creates an ethereal, almost sonic quality.
