At Ultima Collection, we want planning a stay with us to feel effortless and discreet. That includes being open about the small pieces of technology our website uses. This Cookie Policy explains, in plain language, which cookies we use, why we use them, and how you stay in control of your choices at any time. We only set optional cookies with your consent, and we are always happy to answer your questions (see section 14). This policy applies to every page of our website, including the booking pages you reach when you check availability or make a reservation.

At a glance

  • Where this policy applies: this policy covers our website at ultimacollection.com and our secure booking pages, where you check availability and book your stay. These pages are operated for us by our booking engine provider but are part of your visit to Ultima Collection.
  • We use cookies to make our website work, to understand how it is used, and, only if you agree, to measure and personalise our advertising.
  • Your choices: apart from the cookies that are strictly necessary, we only use analytics, performance and advertising cookies if you accept them. You can change your choice at any time through the Cookie settings link or the small cookie icon, on our website and on our booking pages.
  • This policy should be read with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data.

In this policy

1. Who we are and what this policy covers

This Cookie Policy explains how Ultima Collection uses cookies and similar technologies on ultimacollection.com (the “website”).

When you select Book on a property page, a booking window opens on our website and you then continue to our booking engine, operated by D‑EDGE on a separate website. The cookies set there are listed in section 6, and D‑EDGE’s own policy is available here.

The website is operated by ULTIMA CAPITAL SA, registered office: Baarerstrasse 25, 6300 Zug, Switzerland. Where we say “Ultima Collection”, “we”, “us” or “our”, we mean this company, acting for the group of companies that operate under the Ultima Collection brand.

Cookies can involve personal data. How we use that data is described in our Privacy Policy. If anything in this policy differs from the Privacy Policy on how personal data is handled, the Privacy Policy prevails.

2. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your computer, phone or tablet when you visit. They let the website recognise your device, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. Some cookies expire when you close your browser (session cookies). Others stay on your device for a set period (persistent cookies). Cookies set by us are first party cookies. Cookies set by another company, such as an analytics or advertising provider, are third party cookies.

This policy also covers similar technologies that work in the same way, such as pixels, web beacons, tags, local storage and software development kits. We refer to all of them as “cookies”.

7. How to manage your choices

When you first visit the website, our banner (“We value your privacy”) lets you choose Accept All, Reject All, or Customize your choices by category and then select Save My Preferences. Reject All keeps only the necessary cookies. Optional cookies are not set until you choose to accept them. We keep your choice for 12 months and then ask you again, or sooner if this policy or the cookies we use change materially.

You can change your mind at any time. Select the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page, or the small cookie icon on the page to review your choices, accept additional categories or withdraw consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of what happened before.

Your browser

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. If you block all cookies, parts of the website, including some forms, may not work. Instructions for the main browsers:

Google Chrome | Microsoft Edge | Mozilla Firefox | Apple Safari | Opera

Advertising and analytics choices

You can also manage personalised advertising directly with the providers (see section 5), through the industry tools at youronlinechoices.eu (Europe) or optout.aboutads.info (United States), and in the advertising settings of your phone or tablet. To stop Google Analytics collecting data about your use of any website, you can install the Google Analytics opt out browser add on.

8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal. The website does not currently respond to these signals. Please use the Cookie settings link to set your choices.

9. Social media and embedded content

Our website may link to or embed content from social media and other platforms, such as Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. When you load embedded content or use a share button, that provider may set its own cookies and receive information about your visit, whether or not you hold an account with it. We ask for your consent before loading such content where the law requires it. Please check the provider’s privacy policy to see how it uses your data.

10. International transfers

Some of the providers listed in section 5 are based outside Switzerland, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, for example in the United States. Where information is transferred, we rely on adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses or other safeguards recognised by Swiss, EU and UK data protection law. More information is in our Privacy Policy.

11. How long we keep information

Each cookie has its own lifespan, shown in section 6. In Google Analytics, we keep user and event data for 14 months. Data collected through our other analytics and advertising tools is kept by those providers for the periods set in their own settings and policies. We keep a record of your consent choices for as long as needed to show that we respected them.

12. Your rights and complaints

You have rights over your personal data, including to access, correct, delete and object to its use, as described in our Privacy Policy. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can contact us first (section 14). You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority, such as the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), the supervisory authority in your EU country, or the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when we change the cookies or tools we use, or when the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. Where a change is significant, we will ask for your consent again through the cookie banner.

14. Contact us
