Ultima Expands its CSR Pledge

Ultima

29 March 2021 - Ultima Collection, a series of ultra-luxury private residences, chalets, villas, and spas across Europe, is proud to announce its latest partnership with non-profit organisation One Tree Planted, adding to its existing roster of corporate social responsibility initiatives (CSR).

With projects spanning the globe, One Tree Planted is dedicated to global reforestation, helping to restore biodiversity in combination with meaningful social impact. Ultima Collection begins its partnership with 10,000 trees across Europe in locations susceptible to deforestation, including Iceland, Scotland, Denmark, and Italy.

“Ultima Collection prides itself on giving back to the community and the environment and we are continually looking for ways in which we can improve our sustainable initiatives” notes Michala Chatel, Managing Partner at Ultima Collection. “Our new partnership with One Tree Planted highlights our commitment to the cause, and we look forward to going above and beyond our pledge in our first year of working with One Tree Planted.”

In addition to planting one tree, per guest, per night at an Ultima property, guests will be offered the opportunity to top up the donation. Trees assist in cleaning the air, filtering water, and providing habitat to over 80 percent of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity, and thus reforestation is one of the best ways to give back to the environment. The trees are planted by local partner organisations and community volunteers in areas of deforestation.

“We are pleased to have secured this partnership with Ultima Collection” commented One Tree Planted founder and Chief Environmental Evangelist, Matt Hill. “We admire the brand’s commitment to environmental sustainability by planting a tree for every night’s stay per guest. It is a great example of how hospitality brands can make a positive contribution to our planet.”

Ultima Collection’s initiatives extend beyond the new partnership and the brand continues to show its commitment to sustainability throughout its construction, consumption, and supply. The brand has incorporated a limited plastic policy, removing plastic bathroom amenities, using biodegradable materials when appropriate, and removing single-use products, whilst still maintaining luxury standards. Ultima has also collaborated with Nespresso Professionnel Suisse, who collect all used Nespresso capsules to recycle and repurpose.

In terms of infrastructure, Ultima’s Swiss properties hold the energy-efficient Minergie label; a registered quality label for new and refurbished low-energy-consumption buildings in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Ultima continues to support local businesses and source goods from locally owned and operated businesses, in each destination wherever possible. The brand is also supportive of numerous charities, spreading awareness and raising financial aid for organisations such as Blenheim Starlight, Womanity, and the Naked Heart Foundation, to name a few.
